Visual Arts

Students in Visual Arts are given the opportunity to explore a range of media in order to create magnificent artworks. Students have created artworks along the lines of Mark Jenkins and his cellotape sculptures, pop art ceramics inspired by Oldenburg, paintings using watercolours, acrylics or oils, printmaking, found object sculpture, drawing, photography, environmental sculptures in a similar vein to that of Andy Goldsworthy and much much more.

Throughout the year, students are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of excursions, whether it be to the local art gallery, or the galleries in Sydney or even Canberra.

The culmination of Visual Arts is in the development of a Body of Work for the HSC. This is where students are in charge of developing and creating an artwork of their own choosing, under the guidance of their teacher.
