Kelso High Campus  and Bathurst High Campus

Denison College is a multi-campus secondary college consisting of two Year 7-12 campuses. The College commenced operation in 2007.

Located in Bathurst, the College is the largest provider of secondary education in the area with student numbers over 1800, a college teaching staff of 180 and support staff of over 50.

KEY COLLEGE PROGRAMS INCLUDE:
  • Shared senior curriculum, with courses offered across both campuses, as well as TAFE
  • Shared course options for Years 9 and 10 with courses offered across both campuses
  • Innovative transition programs (iExplore and iLearn) with partner primary schools in Bathurst
  • Partnerships with Charles Sturt University, local government, business and industry

Denison College has strategies in place to help students transition through various stages of their secondary school education.

The iLearn and iExplore programs support students as they transition from primary school to Year 7.

The Future Pathways program assists students with their subject selection as they move into Stage 5 (Years 9 and 10).

The Future Directions program helps students entering the final two years of their secondary school education.

Since its establishment in 2007, the College staff has expanded to include College Deputy Principals and an Executive Assistant to support the College Principal.

Denison College is committed to improving outcomes for students through enhanced teaching quality. College staff provide professional leadership and collaborate with campus executive teams to ensure the highest possible quality of curriculum delivery and to improve access to a wide variety of pathways for students.

Denison College delivers a broad shared senior curriculum across both campuses and TAFE. We offer over 90 courses for study in the senior years across the two campuses.

Students in Years 9 and 10 can also choose from courses at both campuses, increasing their subject choice options.

Campus programs supported by Denison College include Girri Girri Sports Academy, which provides support and guidance for ATSI students, and the iLearn/iExplore Year 6-7 transition programs which are run in conjunction with our fourteen partner primary schools. There is a focus on expanding our range of regular enrichment activities for students in Years 7-10, so that all students have the opportunity to identify and extend upon their specific area of interest or skill.

Key Events:
In addition to the daily operations of the campuses, the college also runs a number of significant events each year. These include:

High Achievers' Reception: Held in February, the reception, usually hosted at Charles Sturt University, is a celebration of the outstanding success of students in Years 10, 11 and 12.

Future Directions: Run over August-September, staff from the College lead an extended support process to guide Year 10 students and their parents through the complex process of career planning and subject selection.
