Moving to high school

Expressions of interest (EOI) for Year 7 2025 will open in March 2024.

Your child's primary school will provide an online link to the digital EOI form in March 2024. If you have any questions, please contact them.

Transition program

At Kelso High we see the transition from primary school to secondary school as a significant step and it is essential that we give students an opportunity to move gradually through this change. Our iLearn program is central to providing quality transition for Year 6 students intending to enrol at the school.

Our transition program for Year 6 students comprises:

  • iLearn Transition Program (ongoing)
  • An Orientation Night held in Term 1 (7 March 2024)
  • A second Orientation Night held in Term 4
  • A full day Orientation Day held in late November

The program is open to students from our feeder primary schools as well as non-government schools. The iLearn Transition Program also involves students visiting the campus once a term to participate in interactive lessons that allow them to become familiar with staff, students and facilities, as well as experience subject areas that are offered in the Kelso High curriculum.

Transition information for students starting Year 7 in 2025 and Transition Program dates are available in the linked documents.

In 2024, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students will attend additional Aboriginal cultural program transition days towards the end of Terms 2, 3 and 4. Dates are available here.

Nominating for iXtend classes

The i.Xtend classes challenge students who show exceptional ability in the intellectual and creative domains and are self- motivated.

Applications are due by the end of Term 2 (Friday 5 July 2024), after which time they will be considered by the College team.

Here is the information about the application process and how to access and complete the relevant forms.
